N.O.R.R.I.S. — UAT Partner Guide
You're testing N.O.R.R.I.S., a personal trading-automation project by Shaun.
This is paper-mode only. Nothing here trades real money. You're here to
click around, break things, and tell Shaun what's confusing.
🚀 Get started (5 minutes)
1. Open the dashboard

2. Sign up
Click "Sign up" on the login page. Enter:
- Your email
- A display name (whatever you want — "Bob", "Trader1", anything)
That's it. You're in.
3. Read the disclaimer and sign
You'll land on a disclaimer page. Skim it. The short version:
- This is alpha software. It will break.
- Paper-mode only — no real money is traded.
- Nothing here is financial advice.
Type your initials, click Sign.
4. Walk through the chat onboarding
You'll land in the chat. The assistant will greet you and walk you through:
- Optional: your IBKR or Kraken API keys (paper-mode, so you can use real keys
but nothing real will trade — or skip this entirely and just watch the
paper feed)
- Your risk preferences
- Your goals
Just answer the questions. There's no wrong answer.
5. Look around
After onboarding, you'll see the main dashboard. Useful pages:
- Chat — talk to the AI assistant. Ask it anything about trading or the system.
- Notifications — alerts the system has fired
- Activity — what the autonomous loop is thinking and doing
- Reports — your daily digest, P&L, journal
- Positions — what the (paper) bot is holding
💬 Things to try
Ask the chat assistant:
- "What's the market doing right now?"
- "Explain your last paper trade"
- "What's your strategy?"
- "Pause trading" / "Resume trading"
Use the bang commands in chat:
- !skills — list everything the AI can do
- !portfolio-review — get a portfolio walkthrough
- !explain-decision <trade-id> — get the reasoning behind a paper trade
- !run-report pnl week — generate a weekly P&L report
🐛 If something breaks
Most likely: the page returns an error or hangs.
Just tell Shaun: "Hey, X broke when I did Y." Screenshots are gold. The whole
point of UAT is finding stuff like this, so don't be shy.
Shaun gets an email when the server logs errors, so he may already know.
✋ Important — what NOT to expect
- No real trades. Even if you connect a live IBKR or Kraken key, the system
is hard-coded to paper mode on this staging deploy. Orders go to a paper
mirror, never to your exchange. - No SLA. The service can be down for hours without notice. Shaun's
watching, but it's not a paid product. - No financial advice. Everything the AI says is pattern-matching, not
professional judgment. It will sometimes be confidently wrong.
